Mei, 01-01.
It is lockdown, I told you before. Only: the problem is not the lockdown itsself, but the fact that nobody ever can tell until when the lockdown will go on. From the beginning  I heard dates, but always the dates change when the last date had started. Limke for instance the last time it was said the lockdown would go on for two more weeks, that would be 15th of april. Then it was told that the next three days everything would be closed, including foodshops, supermarkets, etc. After three days I hear from somebody else that the coming 4 days all shops will be closed, including markets, foodshops, etc. The positive side of the story is that in the morning most foodshops and supermarkets are open in the morning, until 12.00 or 13.00 am.
Last sunday was a more terrific day: I found out that part of electric power was not working, like for instance my fridgidaire and light in my kitchen. I asked my house-owner if there was some problem. He said: don't worry, later today the power will start working, he said: probably 3 or 4 o'clock. So I believed him and left the electricity as it was. But then, around 4 oclock, suddenly my television (that still was functioning) started on and off, untill it stopped totally. I wouldn't have to worry, because we have an extra batteries-set, especially for in case there would be a power problem. The light in the room also started to
Mei, 04-2020.
Some days passed, without me writing a single word. I must say: I'm not in the mood sometimes.
I heard the lockdown will stay 2 more weeks. I have heard that before and also that the date was changed after some tome, but I have the feeling that this time it will be true.
I was telling you about my experience on a day without (electric) power: sunday, one week ago (26 april). After some time it was 6 o'clock, electricity would be okay again, the house owner had told me. So, indeed, after around 10 minutes electricity started working again, television and the ven also started working. But that would last for only around twenty minutes: the light started flickering again, the television showed disturbances and after some time stopped totally again. The fact that the lights started flicker meant that there was no regular electrical power, but that the batteries of the house were working, there was some power, but it was not enough to feed all the electrical equipment that was working at the time. It was dark outside already, so I needed some light, but it was rather enough for the light itself: there was not enough power, that's why it was flickering, so I'ld better put it off totally, it was rather annoying, irritating; but that was not at all a nice experience, I would have to accept a whole dark night and it still was just a few minutes past half past 6. I had experienced nights without power many times before, but now I lived in this house with ac's, vens and televisions and also they had a system with reserve batteries, in case there is no electricity. So my mind was set on electric power during most of the time. So, to be honest, I was a little pissed of. But my house owner, who lives opstairs, came down after some time, to tell me electricity would start again soon. That it was because the company in Pondicherry (where our electricity comes from) was the reason of the problem. So this happens more often: the company sometimes has to do some work with the system; the problem is: they never tell you in advance that this going to happen!

And, indeed, after around 15 minutes, electricity started again. I was happy, to not have to spend the whole night without any light. The thing is: when I know in advance, I can prepare: I don't like it, but once you know, you feel prepared; but this time I was not prepared, so the system with the batteries was not really fully charged; als my own IPad and phones did not have the time to be charged. And in India the evening starts around 6 p'clock, half past 6: then it becomes really dark and the only thing you can do is lie in your bed, trying to fall asleep. This was not a nice prospect, it made me a bit fucked up. But, as I told you: after some time electricity started working again. But to make me more crazy, this idiot story happened a few more times, really as if some person or people in Pondicherry look for a way to make you crazy: after 20 minutes electricity stopped again, it was again dark as the night! And just at the moment I decided to go look fo my bed, to think if it would not be better to try to find my sleep, suddenly electricity started again!
I was really happy to find out that after I experienced this 2 more times, at last electricity stayed burning: I was so happy to be able to watch a movie on television until it ended and to fall asleep in my favorite and natural way: in front of the television!
